Chris, Thanks for the great lesson today. I sure had fun with Lois and Patty writing our own book. I would love to do this in my math class after reading a math literature book. I loved your sons creations. It's fun to see what other teachers/students do.

This was a ton of fun. I want to tell my son's 5th grade teacher next fall to do this for his class! I am not sure how to bring this to the college level - but I am fairly certain, after seeing how much fun we had today, that it can be done and my students would love it.
This was another brilliant demo. So often we extol the virtues of the writing process but stop before reaching the final stage: publishing.
Publishing is important. It's a way of showing that our words are headed somewhere, and it's a way of acknowledging that there's a point when we have to let go and move on to something else.
I agree!! Even though Kathy, Bev, and I are in the same district, I don't ever get to work with them. It was fun, relaxing, and I'm sure my students will really love it. I think this would help some of those low writers feel more empowered.
I enjoyed the lesson and it reminded me to get back to these kinds of activities with my 6th graders. I used to do things like this, but testing has dampened my spirits and I don't do the fun stuff anymore.
It was a fun demo, hands on and definitely engaging. Though my group didn't get clear done with writing it, we did have a story line, and enjoyed collaborating.
Kris, your horse story revealed a little about its writers. I know no one in the class, but I feel that I am getting to know you so quickly. Horses for you and Jackie, Amish with Missy. How interesting how you can make the connections. Don I'm not too sure about....
