If you don't mind too much, would you please respond with a comment to this post?
What I want to know is whether the blogging should be more focused or if it should be left alone (or whether it should be, gulp, phased out). All feedback is welcome. I like the blog for a variety of reasons, but it's really okay if you don't. I'm just looking to find out how you feel about this "end of the day" activity.
Thanks, Don.

I can go either way. I do feel at this point I could use the time better in researching or working on the inquiry paper. I think blogging would be good to keep in contact with everyone after the class is finished.
I think you should leave it at it is. Students, even in college, like to have choices. Personally, this class is the first time I have ever "Blogged"anything, ..so see how you've already widened my horizons?
My difficulty with the blog is that I'm usually "opinioned" out by the end of the day and I don't have much left to contribute.
I think my comments sometimes seem forced because I feel very time constricted to blog from 3:30 -4:00. I have hated to quit what we were doing, switch gears, and blog. On the drive home I process the day, and feel more reflective after I have had time to think a bit.
Actually a couple of us from Hocking Hills were talking about setting up a blog for our students to publish their poems or short writings on. This is the first one I have used and I enjoy it.
This is my first experience with blogging so I have learned a new technique. I don't thinking about everything I did during the day which is what I do during the blog session.
I do enjoy using the blog. This is the first time I have ever used it and didn't even know what one was until another teacher explained it to me before this class started. I think I would like to leave it the way it is. However, maybe on the days that we are in our writing groups we could spend more time on the research project and not blog on those days. We could just blog on the reading group days. Just a suggestion. :)
I would like to have both/and (lol) - a choice to just openly respond to a variety of things and I would also like a chance to have a more directed blog discussion - maybe not everyday but maybe a few times a week. I would like a chance to see everyone's comments on a particular point of our discussion or reading.
I tend to agree with Matt. By the end of the day my head is so full I just go through the process of blogging. I could contribute more meaningful blogs if I had time to assimilate. I have never been a big fan of blogging. I can see positives, I guess would rather read what other people write and not post every night?
Well, I think blogging has certain advantages. For one, it is an arena for entering our positive feedback to our presenters. But, I think our conversations lack depth. I think we are all tiptoeing around each other, being very polite but not really giving each other anything to chew about. Maybe you could try a directed blog with a particular topic.
I like the Blog. I am just really exhausted by the end of the day. Sometimes I really want to blog and other times I just want to work on research. I like the idea of 3 out of 7. Maybe for next years group you could assign 3 days out of 5 to blog, but the student pick which day work for them. Sometime our conversations lead us to a topic we really want to research.
